Why students have to learn social study?
What students have to learn social study?A lot of students have the same question. It's useful because it helps us understand people and how societies work. You king of see the bigger picture of the world. It shows us how past events connect to today. Like, a lot of stuff happening in the world now is kind of like what happened before.It helps us think more about what's fair or unfair in the world, and it makes us pay more attention to current events. It makes us more aware of different cultures and perspectives.
What will we learn?
​In social study, students will learn about history, like how's Canada formed, students have different opinions, they can share their opinions to the class and discussions with the class. To let students can be more focus in class we will add more hands-on activities instead of just notes. Like projects or field trips would make it more fun. Talk about more recent events, not just the old stuff to make students interest in it. And learned some topics that apply to the real life.
How is it useful? And what challenges me?
Social study could helps you with other object, like English. In English, students will do a lot of essays, and there's often some history articles for reading essays. There will always have challenges, in social class, the challenging things might be remembering all the dates and names, trying to reflect all this learning and be able to apply this real life situations, and writing long answers, like you know what you want to say, but it's hard to put it into words,
